Selin Sinem Erciyas joined Gün + Partners in 2006 and became a partner in 2014. She specializes in life sciences and intellectual property with a special focus on patents and utility models. Selin has been involved in a number of advisory and litigation matters in all fields of IP and has handled hundreds of contentious and non-contentious administrative oppositions and court actions involving intellectual property rights, particularly in relation with protection of patent rights. She regularly advises on patent infringement actions, declaration of non-infringement actions and nullity actions. She represents multinational pharmaceutical companies before the Ministry of Health on regulatory issues and examinations.

Prof. Rana Sanyal received her BS degree from Bogazici University in Chemical Engineering and Ph.D. degree from Boston University in Chemistry. Prof. Sanyal started her career as a research scientist in Amgen Inc., Thousand Oaks, California, where she gained extensive experience in medicinal chemistry. Since 2004, she is a faculty member at the Department of Chemistry at Bogazici University. Her current research interests focus on biotechnology and pharmaceuticals, including targeted nanomedicines. Prof. Sanyal has been named one of the three Cartier Women’s Initiative 2021 Global Science and Technology Pioneer Award fellows. She is the director of the Center for Life Sciences and Technologies (https://lifesci.boun.edu.tr/), an international center of excellence, at Bogazici University, since 2013. She is an inventor or co-inventor of over 50 issued patents or pending applications. Prof. Sanyal co-founded RS Research, a clinical stage biotechnology start-up discovering and developing smart nanomedicines with Sena Nomak. RS Research’s proprietary drug delivery platform technology increases the effectiveness of chemotherapy while reducing side effects.
