Europe: Residence and Citizenship: Portugal, Switzerland, and the UK

This webinar will provide a thorough overview of the options and possibilities regarding residence and citizenship in the three jurisdictions of; Portugal, Switzerland and the UK. A brief outline of the lifestyle in each jurisdiction will be covered. 

Portugal offers the attractive Golden Visa. The investment route, to gain Portuguese residence and citizenship, is becoming increasingly popular and this route will be explored in detail.

Switzerland is a jurisdiction of international appeal. How individuals can move there to work and/or retire will be detailed.

The UK offers a number of interesting visa options, including the Tier 1 (Investor) visa, Sole Rep visa, and the Innovator visa. The UK is an iconic destination for many, with the non-dom regime remaining attractive.

SPEAKERS
Catarina Sardinha

Catarina's role at Dixcart Portugal is to coordinate the work of the legal department and she is very actively involved in assisting clients seeking to take advantage of the Portuguese Golden Visa. She provides advice as to which Golden Visa route is most appropriate, is fully conversant with the application process and also has expertise regarding the Portuguese Non-habitual Resident Regime.

Catarina joined Dixcart in 2008. She graduated in Law from the University of Lisbon and worked for a company associated with an international law firm. She completed her post graduate course in Advanced Tax Law in June 2010.

Christine Breitler

Christine advises clients on many aspects of international relocation and has extensive expertise regarding moving to Switzerland to work or to retire. She has detailed knowledge of the Swiss Lump Sum System.

Christine also has expertise regarding the establishment of trusts and foundations and provides advice on family office and wealth preservation services. 

In addition, she acts as a director of Swiss Companies, established and managed by Dixcart Switzerland and for whom we deal with their taxes and annual accounts. 

Christine joined the Dixcart Group in 1997. She was promoted to Head of the Dixcart office in Switzerland in 2000.

Vincent Chung

Vincent offers practical advice to businesses and individuals on all matters relating to UK immigration and British nationality, for clients in the UK and those seeking to move to the UK. 

Vincent has a wide range of experience advising individuals on the various immigration routes within the UK points-based system. He also regularly advises HNWI, entrepreneurs and businesses on visa categories such as the Tier 1 (Investor) visa, Innovator visa and Sole Rep visa.
  
He also provides advice to organisations on how to obtain and maintain a UK Sponsor Licence.

Vincent is a dual-qualified solicitor in Scotland, and England & Wales.

Antonio Pereira

Antonio is a Director of STAG Fund Management and is a qualified Lawyer specialising in Private Wealth Management, actively monitoring, advising and providing consultancy services regarding the implementation of various real estate and financial investments. Antonio regularly liaises with the Portuguese Stock Market’s Regulator, coordinating; the establishment of Venture Capital Funds, risk investment mitigation, identification and prevention, team and client management, and ongoing client supervision regarding onboarding procedures. His extensive professional skills include an in-depth knowledge of best practice relating to due diligence and risk assessment of investments, and ‘AML’ and ‘KYC’ procedures.

Laurence Binge

Laurence Binge is – a Director of Dixcart International Limited in the UK. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1985. Before joining the Dixcart Group in 1992, he spent six years in general practice.

Laurence’s main area of expertise is advising on family and corporate governance, family office and wealth management issues including asset protection and wealth preservation. He advises on the taxation of non-UK domiciliaries, both resident in, or coming to, the UK, as well as UK resident individuals looking to move abroad. Laurence is on the Board of a number of client companies, where his general commercial and tax knowledge is highly valued. He is a Director on a dozen hospitality related companies and, through Dixcart International Limited, provides UK Director services to several clients.
