Nigel Mengham, former Commercial Director of Natwest Card Services, has joined professional services firm KPMG as UK Head of Marketing as part of a major restructuring of the firm's marketing activities. Mr Mengham will lead a significantly strengthened marketing function designed to enhance the firm's internal and external communications capabilities as it meets the evolving competitive challenges of the professional services market.

Mr Mengham, 43, will head a department responsible for the gamut of internal and external communications, brand development, design and graphics, media relations, corporate events, sponsorship and publication teams.

With over 20 years' marketing experience gained in both FMCG and financial services markets, Mr Mengham brings a wealth of experience to this new role.

"The rapid pace of change in the professional services market over the past year or so acted as a strong catalyst for change in how KPMG goes to market," said Mr Mengham.

He continued: "KPMG's newly-realigned marketing community will consolidate and strengthen not only the way the firm communicates internally and externally, but also the firm's service offerings to its existing and prospective UK clients."

Mr Mengham will be building a strong UK marketing team to form a centre of professional excellence for the firm. "We want the best marketeers who can apply tried and tested marketing practices and techniques in a professional services environment. The restructuring will provide a common platform for shared marketing services, allowing the firm to play on its traditional strengths while simultaneously developing new markets and skills bases. Importantly, KPMG will continue to have a strong regional marketing presence in its key offices around the UK."
