Stuart Nicholls, 43, has been appointed Business Unit Senior Partner of KPMG’s Infrastructure and Government (I&G) line of business, based at Canary Wharf. His role involves the day-to-day operational management of some 350 KPMG I&G partners and staff based at Canary Wharf.

Stuart, who joined KPMG in September 1975 and was made a partner in 1990, is a specialist in the construction, rail and electricity sectors in which he has a number of listed clients. Recent assignments include the demerger of National Power and the financial restructuring of Eurotunnel.

He commented: "I am delighted to have been asked to undertake this role. The Infrastructure and Government practice based in Canary Wharf has developed into a committed and enthusiastic team. I shall enjoy working with them to achieve further success."

He succeeds James Conway, who has been appointed head of KPMG’s Information, Communication and Entertainment (ICE) practice based in Blackfriars.
