Elizabeth Gutteridge, Intellectual Property partner at Deloitte, the business advisory firm, comments on the Chancellor's plans to review the UK's intellectual property framework to further promote business growth:

"It is pleasing to see that today's Budget has outlined plans to address the growing problem of counterfeit goods circulating within the Digital and Creative Industries (D&CI). Companies operating in these markets continue to suffer significant revenue losses.

"The international element of the plan is in recognition of the fact that the UK cannot address these issues in isolation. International collaboration around enforcement will be key. Businesses can play their part by making sure they engage in sufficient due diligence to at least be alert to the risks as they enter new markets."
