The United States Patent and Trademark Office ("USPTO") is in preparation of increasing the official fees concerning trademarks through its "Final Rule" which will be effective as of January 2, 2021.

The United States Patent and Trademark Office (“USPTO”) is in preparation of increasing the official fees concerning trademarks through its “Final Rule” which will be effective as of January 2, 2021.

 Below you may find some of the revised fees which will be effective from the said date:

Application and application-related fees*

  • TEAS Standard: $350 per class - up from $275 per class
  • TEAS Plus: $250 per class- up from $225 per class
  • Processing fee for failing to meet TEAS Plus requirements: $100 per class- down from $125 per class

Post registration fees*

  • Section 8 or 71 declaration filed through TEAS: $225 per class- up from $125 per class 

 *Obtained from USPTO's official website

 In addition to above, there will be some other revisions in relation to letter of protest, notice of opposition, some of extension request, deletion of goods/services from a registration.
