Furniture tip-over issues have been at the forefront of the home furnishings industry in 2017. Already, the Consumer Product Safety Commission has reported seven furniture recalls this year related to dressers, chests of drawers and chests being at risk for tipping over.

Womble Bond Dickinson attorneys Michael Sullivan and Christa Burger spoke on furniture tip-over issues, at the American Home Furnishings Alliance (AHFA) 2017 Regulatory Summit. The Womble attorneys addressed the current litigation landscape, the industry's voluntary standards and what companies can do to manage risk.

The AHFA Regulatory Summit took place Oct. 25 at the Guilford Technical Community Conference Center, Cameron Campus.

Ann Marie Buerkle, acting chair of the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), served as the keynote speaker for the event. Click here to read coverage of the AHFA Regulatory Summit in Furniture Today.
