Julie Hopkins, Vice President, and Adam Holofcener, Executive Director, of Maryland Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts, convened on the Maryland General Assembly on Thursday, February 22, 2018, for Maryland Arts Day.

300 individuals representing 125 arts organizations across the state lobbied Maryland's senators and delegates for continued funding of the arts. Julie and Adam joined supporters from the Single Carrot Theater, the Modell Lyric, the Baltimore Museum of Art, the Hippodrome Theatre, The Walters Art Museum, the Goldseker Foundation, Baltimore Center Stage, the Greater Baltimore Cultural Alliance, Maryland Citizens for the Arts, and others speaking directly with legislators from Baltimore City about the need for continued arts funding to better the city. The morning program included a presentation of the National Award for State Arts Leadership to Governor, Larry Hogan, and a keynote address by Adam Lerner, Director of the Museum of Contemporary Art Denver.
