Jon Barooshian will serve on the Building a Successful Cannabis Entity panel at the Worcester Business Journal's (WBJ) The Business of Cannabis forum, taking place from 2 to 5 p.m. on June 11 at the DCU Center.

Cannabis has been a huge influence on the Massachusetts economy, expected to generate more than $1 billion in its second year of legalization, so business interest continues to increase. To that end, the forum, sponsored by Bowditch, will address how entrepreneurs and businesses can profit from the cannabis industry's expansion.

Jon will serve on the Building a Successful Cannabis Entity panel alongside Tina Sprega, president and CEO of GFA Federal Credit Union (Safe Harbor of Massachusetts), and Julia Germaine, COO of Temescal Wellness. The discussion will be moderated by Beth Waterfall, executive director of Elevate Northeast, and will target the potential cannabis licensee, providing an overview of license types, corporate structures, building a team and financing.

The forum's keynote speaker will be the commissioner of the Cannabis Control Commission, Kay Doyle. Her speech will look at the "state of the State" of the cannabis industry in Massachusetts. The other keynote speaker will be cofounder and president of 4Front Ventures Kris Krane, who will discuss "The Economics and Future of Cannabis in Massachusetts."
