The Senate overwhelmingly supported the bipartisan ADVANCE Act sending it to President Biden's desk for his signature, in a bid to revamp the U.S.'s nuclear industry by modernizing regulations and streamlining permitting processes. The European Union (EU) has given the green light for sanctions targeting Russia's gas industry, aiming to prevent EU ports from reselling Russian liquified natural gas (LNG) and to restrict financing for proposed Arctic and Baltic terminals. Finally, the Biden administration unveiled final rules designed to incentivize high-paying manufacturing jobs and promote union-supported apprenticeships in return for Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) tax credits as part of its push to build out a clean energy economy.
