The EU has published an amendment to Regulation 269/2014, which is one of the four EU regulations imposing sanctions concerning the situation in Ukraine.

The EU has published an amendment to Regulation 269/2014, which is one of the four EU regulations imposing sanctions concerning the situation in Ukraine. Nineteen individuals and nine entities have been added to the list of designated persons.

Regulation 269/2014 is titled "restrictive measures in respect of actions undermining or threatening the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine" and the individuals and entities newly designated have been added because the EU has determined they have actively supported actions and policies which undermine the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine and which further destabilise the country.

EU entities and persons must now freeze funds and economic resources belonging to, owned, held or controlled by the newly designated persons and must not make funds or economic resources available to them or for their benefit, whether directly or indirectly.

The individuals added are: (1) Pavel DREMOV; (2) Alexey MILCHAKOV; (3) Arseny PAVLOV; (4) Mikhail TOLSTYKH; (5) Eduard BASURIN; (6) Alexandr SHUBIN; (7) Sergey LITVIN; (8) Sergey IGNATOV; (9) Ekaterina FILIPPOVA; (10) Aleksandr TIMOFEEV; (11) Evgeny MANUILOV; (12) Viktor YATSENKO; (13) Olga BESEDINA; (14) Zaur ISMAILOV; (15) Anatoly Ivanovich ANTONOV; (16) Arkady Viktorovich BAKHIN; (17) Andrei Valeryevich KARTAPOLOV; (18) Iosif (Joseph) Davydovich KOBZON; and (19) Valery Fedorovich RASHKIN.

The entities added are: (1) Cossack National Guard; (2) Sparta battalion; (3) Somali battalion; (4) Zarya battalion; (5) Prizrak brigade; (6) Oplot battalion; (7) Kalmius battalion; (8) Death battalion; and (9) Public Movement 'Novorossiya'.
