Did you know existing environmental legislation will apply and regression of the current environmental protections should not occur?

What does Brexit say

The deal enshrines the principle of non-regression from the existing levels of environmental protection that exist.

What do we say

This will mean that existing environmental legislation will apply and regression of the current environmental protections should not occur.

Environmental changes are being introduced by the Environment Bill 2019-2021. The draft bill seeks to make significant changes to environmental policy in the form of Biodiversity Net Gain and Conservation Covenants, amongst other changes. This bill is currently before at the report stage of the House of Commons but is expected to be delayed.

Landowners and Developers should keep up to date with the changes to be introduced by the Environment Bill which will pave the way for post-Brexit Environmental policy.
