What do employers need to do to ensure that they are POPIA compliant?

Members of our Employment and Benefits Practice held a webinar where they discussed the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), with a particular focus on its impact on the workplace.

The majority of the provisions of POPIA came into effect on 1 July 2020. Although POPIA provides for a 12 month transitional period, it is imperative that employers start taking steps now to get their data affairs in order to ensure compliance with the Act.
