In September, Zoe Kansky finalised a Brisbane District Court matter with Counsel involving 20 counts of supplying street-level quantities of methylamphetamine and cannabis. Our client was 25 years old, with minimal criminal history and great prospects of rehabilitation. The Crown Prosecutor submitted to the Court that our client ought to be imprisoned for at least eight to ten months before being released on parole for an additional 18 months.

However, despite the significant number of charges, his new employment, housing stability, and his motivation to remain drug-free allowed our skilled defence Counsel, Mr. Hynes to argue for no actual term of imprisonment to be served. We were successful in achieving this for our client and he was sentenced to immediate parole, where he will be supervised in the community for the next 18 months.
