Our client spent eight months on remand, prior to being granted bail. At the time of the sentence, no additional jail time was ordered and instead, he was allowed to remain in the community on a three-year wholly suspended sentence. This was an excellent result as a defendant pleading guilty is typically required to serve at least one-third of their head sentence, which in this case would have been twelve months.
