Manila, Philippines – SERRANO LAW has been shortlisted for the Impact Deal and Case Awards at the asialaw Awards 2022/23.

The Firm is nominated for handling BDO Unibank's issuance and listing of USD900 Million ASEAN Sustainability Bonds, cited as among deals that impressed the asialaw research team.

The Php52.7 Billion Bond issuance in January 2022 was 10 times oversubscribed from its initial offer of Php5 Billion. This is BDO's first issuance of Sustainability Bonds and the largest single corporate bond issuance in the country to date, with BDO breaking its own record.

Philippine Dealing & Exchange Corp. CEO Antonino Nakpil congratulated BDO and said that "while it is a domestic issue, its size will undoubtedly be noticed by the global watchers of GSSB or ESG related issuances. Today marks a statement by the largest bank in the Philippines..."

SEC Commissioner Ephyro Luis B. Amatong also celebrated the issuance and remarked that "today's listing marks a true milestone in our debt capital markets, being not only the first ESG issuance from a Philippine Corporate in 2022, not only the largest ESG issuance out of the Philippines to date, but indeed, the largest ever corporate fixed income issuance in the history of the Philippine Dealing & Exchange Corp. so far."
