Yeline Goin is a Board Certified Specialist in Condominium and Planned Development Law and regularly counsels condominium, cooperative, and homeowners' associations on a variety of matters. She is experienced in real estate law, land use, zoning and comprehensive planning issues. In addition to community associations, Yeline represents individuals, developers, local governments, and residential real estate lenders.
What woman inspires you and why?
Ruth Bader Ginsburg...she paved the way for a generations of women in the legal profession.
If you could have dinner with anyone alive or dead, who would it be and why?
My grandmother, Delfina Ramirez. She and I were always very close and, although I'm sure she loved all her grandchildren the same, I always felt like we had a special bond. I would love to be able to learn more about her early life in Cuba before she came to the U.S.
What advice (professional or personal) would you give your younger self?
Stop trying to please everyone.
What led you to the practice of law and/or to your specific area of law?
I graduated from college in 1989. We were in the middle of a recession, so I figured I would go to law school to avoid facing the "real world" for a while. While in law school, I interned at DPBR for the general counsel's office and the Division of Condominiums. I was hired by DBPR right after law school, and the rest is history. Except for a very brief flirtation with land use and real estate law, I've only practiced in the field of condominium and HOA law.
What has living through a global pandemic taught you?
We are resilient and adaptable. Also, maybe those people with bunkers full of food were not so crazy after all!
