Walkers Dubai Finance team have scooped another award - this time for the Sukuk Deal of the Year 2023 at the Islamic Finance News (IFN) Awards held in Dubai last week. The IFN awards recognize excellence, achievement and leadership in the Islamic finance industry and have recognised the Walkers Dubai team year after year.
Walkers acted as Cayman Islands counsel to the Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector Islamic Development (ICDS) and ICD Eagle in the issuance by ICD Eagle Limited of KZT 2,000,000,000 Trust Certificates due 21 June 2028 under its Trust Certificate Issuance Programme with, amongst other things, the benefit of a guarantee provided by ICDS.
The team, led by Ciaran Bohnacker and Szymon Durlo, worked alongside Bird & Bird (onshore counsel) to secure the transaction.
