Cannabis Law Report Names Cannabis Law Department Chair Daniel T. McKillop to Global Top 200 Psychedelics and Cannabis Lawyer lists for 2024

McKillop, Partner and Chair of the firm'sCannabis Lawdepartment, has been named toCannabis Law Report's 2024 Global Top 200 Psychedelics Lawyers and Cannabis Lawyers list. Notably, this is the second year in a row that Mr. McKillop has been featured on both lists.
Each year, in collaboration with theCannabis Law Journal, theCannabis Law Reportselects their list of top 200 cannabis and psychedelic law practitioners from around the world based on an annual survey of clients and lawyers. The lists include professionals who they consider to be the best legal minds in both the cannabis and psychedelics industries.
Mr. McKillop has served as Chair of the Firm's Cannabis Law department since its inception in 2016. In recognition of his contributions and influence on the development of cannabis law in New Jersey, Mr. McKillop was named a2018 Trailblazer in Cannabis Law by the National Law Journal.In 2023, Mr. McKillop was appointed by the NJSBA to serve as Co-Chair of the organization's Cannabis Law Special Committee. Already a seasoned cannabis law attorney, Mr. McKillop is also at the forefront of the rapidly evolving psychedelics space. Mr. McKillop co-founded the NJSBA's Psychedelic Law Subcommittee and also recently co-authored an op-ed article for NJ.com, entitled"A Case for Legalizing Therapeutic Psychedelics."
Daniel T. McKillop has served as chair of the firm's cannabis law department since 2016. Mr. McKillop leads a team of attorneys from Scarinci Hollenbeck's various practice areas who assist clients seeking medical or adult-use cannabis licenses and provide counsel regarding current and proposed federal and state medical and adult-use cannabis laws and regulations. He is also a member of the New Jersey CannaBusiness Association, an Editor of the Cannabis Law Journal, and an executive member of the New Jersey State Bar Association Cannabis Law Committee. In 2022, Mr.McKillop expanded his practice to encompass counseling regarding the quickly developing psychedelics industry. In this area, he counsels clients regarding the federal, state, and local laws pertaining to a variety of psychedelic compounds, particularly those demonstrating potential therapeutic treatment benefits and related business opportunities such as psilocybin and MDMA.
