On June 27, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) announced that the FY 2020 ICD-10-CM diagnosis code updates were available. These 2020 ICD-10-CM codes are to be used for discharges occurring from October 1, 2019 through September 30, 2020 and for patient encounters occurring from October 1, 2019 through September 30, 2020.
In addition, CMS released a revised MLN Matters Article MM11296 on Quarterly Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS) Drug/Biological Code Changes – July 2019 Update which discusses ten new HCPCS codes, effective for claims with dates of service on or after July 1, 2019.
