Declaring the impact of Hurricane Dorian on the Northern Bahamas, "an historic tragedy," Prime Minister the Most Hon. Dr. Hubert Minnis led a NEMA press conference at The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) headquarters, yesterday September 2, 2019 as Dorian continued to impact Grand Bahama.  Prime Minister Minnis said upon the 'all clear,' there will be rapid assessment and relief and recovery initiatives. The islands of most urgent focus are Grand Bahama and Abaco, which received the brunt of the hurricane.  Critical measures are in place and every resource will be brought to bear, he said, to bring relief as quickly as possible to those affected islands.

Tanya McCartney, CEO and Executive Director of The Bahamas Financial Services Board stated in the aftermath of Hurricane Dorian that "The majority of our islands of The Commonwealth of The Bahamas are fully operational and unaffected by the hurricane. The capital city of Nassau, New Providence, which is the centre of government operations and financial services was spared a direct hit from Hurricane Dorian.  All government offices in Nassau have reopened today and our member firms are ready to serve their clients."

We ask for your continued support as we work to rebuild and restore our sister islands of Abaco and Grand Bahama.
