In view of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO) has further extended patent, trademark, and industrial design deadlines fixed under the relevant legislation. Deadlines through Friday July 3, 2020 are now extended until Monday July 6, 2020.

CIPO may decide to extend deadlines further, depending how circumstances evolve. Further details may be found on the CIPO website here.

Smart & Biggar will continue to meet original CIPO deadlines upon receipt of timely instructions from our clients. Please contact your relationship partner for further guidance.
