Brazil on November 13 published in its official gazette presidential decrees promulgating its income tax treaties with Trinidad and Tobago and Venezuela, years after they were signed.
Presidential Decree 8,335/2014 inserts the Brazil-Trinidad and Tobago treaty into Brazilian legislation and brings the treaty into force for internal purposes in Brazil. The treaty was signed in Brasilia on July 23, 2008, and entered into force for international purposes on September 23, 2011, the date on which the ratification instruments were exchanged.
Similarly, Presidential Decree 8,336/2014 inserts the Brazil-Venezuela treaty into Brazilian legislation and brings the treaty into force for internal purposes in Brazil. The treaty was signed in Caracas on February 14, 2005, and entered into force for international purposes on August 19, 2010, the date on which the ratification instruments were exchanged.
