On May 6th, 2019, Law No. 17,054 ("Law") was published, regulating the sales, storage and transportation of pesticides and other phytosanitary products used in agricultural areas ("Products"), as well as application of the Products and its package disposal.

The Law foresees several obligations, such as:

  • enrollment of Products before the Coordination of Agricultural Defense;
  • registration of companies, through presentation of environmental license, when applicable;
  • presentation of agronomic prescription as a requirement for delivery of the Products.

Non-compliance with the Law subject companies to a fine up to 10,000 UFESPs, seizure of Products, suspension of activity, among other penalties.
