The Valuer-General has announced that the statutory land valuations for Queensland will be issued from 3 May 2011.

The Valuer-General has also prepared and released a Market Movement Report on Queensland property values in association with the release of these statutory valuations.

As a landowner, what action do you need to take?

As a landowner, we recommend that you:

  • instruct a property valuer to undertake a valuation of your property so that a determination can be made as to whether to lodge an objection against the valuation; and
  • determine if the site improvement deduction provisions set out in the Land Valuation Act 2010 are available to you (and if so, which of the provisions should be applied).

An objection must be "properly made" and given to the Valuer-General within 60 days after the day of issue.

Please contact us if you would like us to:

  • prepare your objection to be given to the Valuer-General; or
  • advise you on the requirements under the Act or the recommended steps set out above.
