Agreement on Arbitration Co-operation between the Executive Council of the Government of Ras Al Khaimah and the DIFC Arbitration Institute

On 12 December 2016 Clyde & Co International Arbitration specialist Alec Emmerson, Consultant and former partner based in Dubai, attended the Ruler's Palace in Ras Al Khaimah to sign an 'Arbitration Cooperation Agreement' between DIFC Arbitration Institute, of which Alec is a Trustee and Chief Executive, and the Executive Council of the Government of Ras Al Khaimah in the presence of HH the Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah Sheikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi. At the same ceremony, an 'Agreement on Judicial Cooperation' was entered into between the Executive Council, the Judicial Council, the Ras Al Khaimah Courts and the DIFC Courts, and Memoranda of Understanding were entered into with the Dispute Resolution Authority, the DIFC Academy of Law, and the Wills and Probate Registry on the one hand, and the Executive Council, the Sheikh Saqr programme for Government Excellence, the Department of Economic Development of Ras Al Khaimah, the Municipality, the RAK Free Trade Zone Authority, the Investment Authority, and the RAK International Corporate Centre.
