On October 23, 1997 the Parliament of the Republic of Estonia adopted a new Law on State Fees. Also the fees for deeds connected with the intellectual property were increased 7 to 50 per cent as from January 1, 1998.

For example, the fee for filing an application for registration of trademark is 2800 kroons instead of 2200 kroons previously (an increase of 27%), the fee for filing patent application is 3500 kroons instead of 3000 (16%) and the fee for filing an application for registration of utility model is 1600 kroons instead of 2000 kroons (an increase of 25%). 8 Estonian kroons is equal to 1 DEM.

The state fees were fixed since 1992. The present rise in fees was caused by the general inflation in the country.

Our agency fees remained unchanged.
