National law firm Holding Redlich is delighted to have been named Law Practice of the Year by the NSW Law Society in their 2019 Charter for the Advancement of Women in the Legal Profession Awards.

Holding Redlich is a signatory to the Law Society of NSW Charter for the Advancement of Women which encourages firms to employ strategies to retain women in the legal profession and to also help them advance their careers to senior and management roles.

Partners Christine Jones and Louise Rumble accepted the award on behalf of the firm at the presentation at Sydney's Town Hall.

National Managing Partner Ian Robertson said the firm is very proud to have a strong, proactive suite of policies that encourage flexible work, career and professional development, pay equity, diversity and inclusion – and that these policies are receiving ongoing recognition.

"Our firm places great importance on gender equality and we have received an Employer of Choice for Gender Equality Citation from the Workplace Gender Equality Agency of the Commonwealth Government for the past 11 consecutive years," Ian said.

"The award from the Law Society of NSW is further important recognition of our commitment to gender equality and the advancement of women."

Ian said the firm's gender equality initiatives are having a positive – and proven - impact, with Holding Redlich's gender pay gap currently at 1.23 percent, down from 15 per cent in 2014 and well below the national average of 24.3 per cent.

"We are very proud of our gender equality initiatives and this award from the NSW Law Society is strong recognition of our commitment to support women in the legal profession," Ian said.
